Mini Shopping Haul|Beauty Hair Products+Reviews

Mini-Shopping-Haul-Hair-Products

I have been experiencing dry hair for about a month now. I have stopped using the Eco Styler Gel with Argan Oil, which I think was part of the cause of my hair drying out, but I also have started using Suave Conditioner, which I believe is very hard on my hair. So I needed to do a major over haul of the products I was using and try and replace them with moisturizing hair products for dry and damaged hair.

Cantu-Shea-Butter-Oil

I have always used coconut oil, evoo, and castor oil on my hair, but I’ve never used the actual shea butter oil. My hair loves this oil you guys! My hair is super soft after I apply this. I use this oil as a daily moisturizer and I also use it for my “oil rinsing”. It’s been great so far. It’s very silky, smooth, and smells wonderful to me! I love the way it smells!  I’m going to add it to my oil list and make sure I always have it in supply. My hair has not felt dry and straw like since using this product. It’s #1 on my list of recommendations. Did I mention it smells really nice? lol

Shea-Butter-Coconut-Curling-Cream 12 oz $6.99

I have used this product a couple of times on my hair. The first time I did a “twist out” and the second time I did a “bantu knot” style. Both times were completely unsuccessful and partly because I didn’t use a styling gel to “hold” the curl, but I wanted to see how the product would work without the extra help. My curls did not hold up, they were loose, limp and hardly defined. The cream does smell very nice and my hair is left feeling soft, but I feel like the product is a little too heavy for my hair. When I use this product with the shea butter oil, my hair feels soooo soft and moisturized. No drying out my hair when using the combination of the cream+oil

Herbal-Essences-Conditioner 10 oz $2.99

This conditioner is so moisturizing. It’s not heavy at all and is very thin, so it really glides through my hair when I “co-wash”. I can’t complain about this product. As you can tell from the indentations at the top of the bottle, I use it a lot and I don’t spare any product. Conditioner doesn’t last long in my house 🙂 My curls really spring after using Herbal Essences Conditioner.

Tressemme-Conditioner

Tressemme-Conditioner 32 oz. $5.99

I’ve used this conditioner multiple times now and I love the way it makes my hair feel. I meant to buy the naturals line of the Tresemme Conditioners, but the results are pretty good. My hair is a lot more light weight after using this product, which means it adds more bounce and free movement. This particular conditioner is special because it is specifically made for daily use. I co-wash once a week, so even though it may contain some sulfates & “cones”, I’m not damaging my hair by using the conditioner too often.

What new products did you try in September?

Any hair product recommendations for naturally curly hair women?

I’ve been using the Eco Styler Argan Oil Gel for buns and washes-no-go for a few weeks, and was 99% sure it was the cause of my dry scalp. Now I’m convinced it is. So, I’m holding off from those styles for a while.

For moisture retention, I like using the Aussie Moist Conditioner, GVP leave-in conditioner (Sally’s brand of Paul Mitchell The Conditioner) and as of late, the Motions natural line products. Surprisingly, although they aren’t all-natural, they’ve been keeping my hair moisturized and shiny. Not sure about buildup though.

Thank you so much for your recommendations. I love Giovanni and will definitely have to go back to it. I’ve been holding off on my wash and go too. I also haven’t used heat on my hair in several months. I completely agree. Even though I don’t use all natural products I try to use oil and water for daily moisture. Thank you for reading! 🙂 I’ll definitely try some of the products you suggested.
