Project 365 Day 4

Image

The attention span of a 2 year old is very short lived. By the time I set up to take a picture of her, she’s already bored and uninterested. Especially when there is TV involved. She loves watching TV, and while I only allow her to watch educational ‘toons for now, she intensively stares at the TV as if she is starring in the cartoon herself, hence the intense stare in the picture above.

Tell Me…

How do you keep the attention of a toddler when you’re trying to take their picture?

I honestly don’t. I like just capturing the moment rather than a good pose. HOWEVER I taken THOUSANDS of pictures of my son; so when the camera comes out, he already says “cheese”. I think he’s over it though being my model now. Lately he just straight up ignores me when I ask him to take a picture. LOL

That’s a GREAT question….along with “how to get a genuine smile!!!” I read something today about being silly, singing them songs and switching up the words, making them laugh. A friend of mine brings squeaky dog toys—like a big, rubber chicken–to her shoots!! Your photo is fabulous, the black and white is so nice, and you really caught her when she was totally engrossed!!

I don’t. it just fustrates me and him. Most of the time, I find that if I wait, I’ll get what I want. And with a toddler, that just happens to be not a lot of photos of him looking at the camera!
