Blogtember 30| The Last Post

I am sad that blogtember is over and I wish I had time to post more but I had a few major tests I had to study for and didn’t have time. Although I did try and catch up like I had done for the Passion Press Daily series (Daily Passion Prompt), but for some reason WordPress deleted my post. I posted for the days I missed of Blogtember with pictures and everything and when I tried to edit the post, everything I had done was gone 😦 So I didn’t want to go through that again but rather make sure I posted on the last day.

Blogtember #30

Share a photo of something old. Maybe something that has personal history for you, that was passed down to you, and that has special meaning to you. Tell us about it and why it’s special.

I have written about my wedding ring in a previous post, you can check out here. I will forever cherish the beautiful sentiment that my husband gave me 3 years ago. Some people would ask, does it matter if you have a ring to prove your love or would the proof of love be enough for you? In my personal opinion, a ring is a confirmation for most, but I wouldn’t need it to be with the one I love. Now is it nice to have? Heck yeah! 🙂

Blogtember 9| My Shameless Self Portrait

Blogtember 9| Self Portrait

It has taken me a long time to even want to be in front of a camera. I absolutely love taking photos of other subjects but rarely step in front of the camera. This was another impromptu photo shoot and.

I am definitely on a journey of rediscovering my self confidence and image of myself.

Blogtember | How Social Media Changed My Life

Blogging and being more active in social media has changed me a lot. I have previously written about wanting a change myself and blogging has done that for me. I’ve been blogging since 2008 and I have always had it as an outlet. But before I was writing for me, and I really didn’t care if anyone was reading. Now I love to post and write about things and I hope that it reaches readers in a way that they become interested or who want to get to know me more.

It has been an incredible journey and there’s still more to come 🙂

Blogtember|INFJ My True Personality

My Personality Results

Introvert(56%)  iNtuitive(25%)  Feeling(25%)  Judging(39%)

Personality Profile:

“Usually self-expression comes more easily to INFJs on paper, as they tend to have strong writing skills. Since in addition they often possess a strong personal charisma, INFJs are generally well-suited to the “inspirational” professions such as teaching (especially in higher education) and religious leadership. Psychology and counseling are other obvious choices, but overall, INFJs can be exceptionally difficult to pigeonhole by their career paths. Perhaps the best example of this occurs in the technical fields. Many INFJs perceive themselves at a disadvantage when dealing with the mystique and formality of “hard logic”, and in academic terms this may cause a tendency to gravitate towards the liberal arts rather than the sciences. However, the significant minority of INFJs who do pursue studies and careers in the latter areas tend to be as successful as their T counterparts, as it is *iNtuition* — the dominant function for the INFJ type — which governs the ability to understand abstract theory and implement it creatively.”

Career Choices:

“INFJs are effective in occupations involving substantial intellectual work, caring for other people, and requiring creativity. INFJs build successful careers in a broad range of organizations. Social and community care services, counseling, teachers of humanities and social sciences, healthcare workers (both in administration and in medical services), various service-oriented professions as well as religious services and social movements are just some of the examples of occupations favourable to INFJs. Quite often they are found in mid-rank management positions. For some of them occupations in sciences or academia are also favourable.”

Social Services, Health Care , Arts & Humanities

How these results resonate with me: I have taken this personality test plenty of times before. I have taken it in High School as well as in College and the results have always been the same. It’s pretty dead on in accuracy. Proof of that, is the fact that I have majored for parts of my college career in all three areas. I started in Social Services by first studying Psychology as my first major choice. Soon after, I was considering majoring in social work, but I soon changed my mind about that. These subjects are interesting to learn about, but I’m not necessarily attracted to it as a profession.

I wanted to tap more into my creative side, so I decided to change my degree plan to Liberal Arts with the 3 areas of study being Psychology, Sociology and Health Science. I should be done with this degree very soon but that’s what brings me to the Health Care portion of my Career Test. I am majoring in nursing currently and will be postponing my Liberal Arts Degree to obtain my Bachelor’s Degree as a Registered Nurse.

Overall,  I feel like the test results were pretty accurate. I have spoken about being an introvert in previous posts, in which you can check out in my Inspiration section of the blog. I’m a quiet introvert, who has learned to adapt to large crowds and speaking engagements, and has a creative side and strong in writing. I found out that I share the same personality elements as Martin Luther King Jr. who I also share a birthday with. No problem with me, because I really admire him. I’m also thinking that most of the blogging community is INFJ, because we all should love to write, right? 🙂

This was really great fun!

A Time When I Was Very Afraid

A Time When I was Very Afraid

Sadly so, there are plenty of times in my life, when I have been very afraid. Fear can be measured on a scale. If you could take that scale and measure it on a scale from 1-10, all of my fears would be closer to 10 than 1. Living in fear can be stifling and it takes a lot of courage to over come it. My fears include small idiosyncrasies like bugs, deep water, and heights, but let’s talk a little bit about what really makes me afraid.

There was a time in my life when I thought I would be physically harmed. Physically harmed from people that I loved.  There was a particular incident in a past relationship when I was actually physically harmed. I feared for my safety and well being during and after and I vowed to never put myself in that situation again. I won’t discuss what actually went on but instead I want to encourage people to choose to not live in fear.

If you or anyone else has been in a situation when you have feared for your mental and physical safety, please do not waste time living in fear.  If you are afraid, you do not have to endure the feeling of  not knowing if you will be safe or not. You must leave that situation before it can get any worse. You are here for love and to live out your life. If something or someone is keeping you from that or hindering you, you have to think of yourself and not be afraid to let go.

Thankfully, I have a husband who loves me and cherishes our family and I no longer live in fear.

Tell me, when was there a time when you were very afraid?
