Book Review | How To Blog For Profit (Without Selling Your Soul)

Book-Review-How-To-Blog-For-Money-Without-Selling-Your-Soul

I am so grateful for the opportunity to have been approached by one of my favorite bloggers, Ruth Soukup, of Living Well Spending Less, about her first published book, How To Blog For Profit (Without Selling Your Soul). I have been following her blog for a long time and she is truly a great woman. I started following her on her sister site, Saving Well Spending Less, when I was learning all about extreme couponing. Ruth does it all as a wife, mother and business woman and I knew that her book would be worth reading.

Just In Case You Missed It: I won a NaBloPoMo Prize & What I’ve Learned About NaNoWriMo

It is officially the end of the NaNoWriMo and NaBloPoMo Writing Challenges and I will have to say that it has definitely been a hard one.

About My NaNoWriMo Experience…

2013-Participant-Square-Button

I was totally and completely unprepared for the NaNoWriMo Writing Challenge. I did, however, find my novel that I was working on years ago and decide to continue writing it. I have actually only written about 10,000 words of it, but was VERY unsuccessful in retyping and entering it in on the web site, so officially, I’ve only written about 350 words. lol So I’m going to write about what I’ve learned and what I could’ve done to reach the 50,000 words for the NaNoWriMo Writing Challenge.

  • Have a clear vision of style of writing ( fiction, non fiction…etc)
  • Write out story line, plot and characters
  • Prepare writing ahead of time (preface or rough draft )
  • Join writing groups or clubs
  • Participate in NaNoWriMo Events for Networking and Inspiration

Check out my blogging friend who finished her NaNoWriMo Experience! Way to go girl!

About My NaBloPoMo Experience…

NaBloPoMo_November_large

I have definitely tried my best in keeping up with writing on my blog daily, however, I lacked the motivation to write from the heart. I’d rather wait to post something meaningful than to post ramblings of my day, because let’s face it, I’m a SAHM and Student so my day to day is the least bit interesting. I liked the fact that I could’ve chose daily prompts to help my posts, but for some reason they were tasking for me mentally because I’m also studying very hard to graduate soon. My overall feeling about the NaBloPoMo experience is that I will definitely do it again and next time I will dedicate every single day to posting.

The greatest thing that came out of the November NaBloPoMo experience was that I was one of the winners of a prize for the November Contest! A Blog Her 2014 Conference Ticket to San Jose, California! So exciting! It was the best feeling to see that I won! How lucky could I be? 🙂

I haven’t decided if I’m going to sign up for the December NaBloPoMo, but it couldn’t hurt right? It’s all about getting those creative juices flowing and showing your love for writing and art with the world. I guess we will see 🙂

Tell Me…

What have you learned about yourself through these writing challenges?

Inspirational Poetry| You

You

Don’t lose sight of yourself trying to become someone that You are not.

Often times it’s the very essence of your true self that’s left blowing in the wind lost and confused trying to reconnect with what’s left of a stranger who used to be You
Being yourself is easy once You have accept who You are not
Because who You are is what the world is in need of most the world needs what You have got.

To pretend to be another is to become some reproduction some counterfeit copy a cheap imitation and your true grace is being wasted
Be who You are let your inner lights shine bright let your ideas in this life soar and take flight as You continually gain knowledge growing in wisdom and insight
What the real You has to offer gives the Universe great delight.

Every one of us is unique in the joys we give in the songs we sing
Sing your song sing it in your key release your true self receive your destiny just as it’s meant to be You.

Inspirational Poetry| I am Happy By Takei Inspirations™

I am Happy

The fullness of happiness is hard to contain when you have it you can sense and it becomes easy to explain I’m full of this happiness and a joy that covers me in a glory and a love that does the same.

When love is visited upon me I find it impossible not to reply in like kind to share it is to perpetuate it and to receive back more of this love since  I’ve been told we reap what we sow.

It is hard to image a life filled with more satisfaction when I think of the love and the joy that I feel when I realize that mercy said no to the tribulation trying to take me down again and again.  I am happy visualizing simply me with no need to create images of one who isn’t me

Happiness not revealed through natural materialistic things but through the joy that living a good life brings.

Given without stress no doubts no tears given to me freely out of love minus any fear and I am happy.

Inspirational Poetry|Love vs Anger

Love vs Anger

Anger vs. Love

Forgiveness where did you go I need you now I’m angry and I can’t let it go.
What do you remember?

I recall the anger that took over my heart while trying to breed hatred in my soul
Sunrise after sunrise the feelings cut so deep some nightfalls unable to locate sleep
All the while anger fights love it brews turmoil and rage that makes every attempt to stir my spirit whispering sour nothings urging me to take heed to listen and to agree
the anger is screaming something so unnatural that I can’t truly understand what it’s saying I only feel it and it’s filled with negativity

But the love is so soft like a soft voice in a soothing song it wants me to forgive and move on that’s when I heard a song I will remember you that’s the song that the song came to me

What do you remember?
There are distant memories of faces and smiles sounds of laughs and the sweet images of the anatomy of a man and woman engulfed in romantic escapades
But the anger is forceful it reminds me of the hurt and the pain it speaks to me of the sweet joys of revenge

I can’t go back I can’t let anger win I allow the love to fill my heart and open it up for the light to come in

Love takes control love soothes my soul love makes me happy and love replaces broken memories with thoughts of a new future and how majestic life will be.
Love wins.

NaBloPoMo Day 6 & 7

Summer Haze

Summer Haze

I have been keeping myself quite busy with blogging and have neglected my studies. I’m so close to graduating (next semester) and I really need to kick it into overdrive, but when you have a 2 year old as cute as mine, it’s hard to get stuff done 🙂

I’m going to be nose deep in my books so that I can get through this semester, so I will be checking in daily with my post challenges, Project 365 and NaBloPoMo, but will have to put a hold on updating the blog so much in other areas.

If I’m featured on other blogs I will definitely keep you updated, and as a matter of fact, I will link to my features from this week here and here, just in case you missed it 🙂 I also post Every Tuesday on Naturally Me’s Website.

Tell Me…

How do you juggle multitasking with home/work/school?

Inspirational Poetry|The Renewal By Takei Inspirations

The Renewal

Renew your mind and your life will follow don’t live on a microcosmic level of what is your true destiny

Knowledge is freedom it represents a seed being planted in your life but don’t forget to pull up those weeds they’re growing up and down the vine that is your spirit your body and your mind

Wipe it down keep it clean don’t continue to consume yourself with the idolization of these material things that don’t mean one single thing.  They evaporate they fade as time continues to pass through the sands of the hour glass these things will not last

Knowledge is everlasting with the power to transform the present to create a bright future all the while ensuring the mistakes of your past don’t revisit and leave you dismal and dismayed afraid to face the sunrise of a brand new day

Knowledge won’t let the past stand in your way

This commodity called knowledge is useless until the practicality of application takes place by the renewing your mind seeing past what you see and speaking only positivity negativity only begets more negativity

Positivity brings about God’s grace it sets you on pace to live your dreams
Activate your knowledge discover your grace live by your faith then you’ll find it’s easy to get in your appointed place.

Wake up and live!

Life is one big road with lots of signs.  So when you’re ridding through the ruts don’t complicate your mind. Flee from hate, mischief, and jealousy don’t bury your thoughts put vision to reality.  Wake up and live! ~ Bob Marley

This is by far one of my favorite quotes from Bob Nesta Marley.  The quote in itself is poetry!  I’ve spent many hours dissecting each line trying to feel his exact thoughts and emotions as he spoke these words.  Every part of this is truth and when the words come together they create a story, a poem.

Don’t complicate life, after all it is fairly simple.  Live your life to the fullest each and every day not concerning yourself with the things of life that you can’t control.   When  you find yourself in a tough situation avoid the negative thoughts, ideas, and talk.  Dwell on the positive speak the solution not the problem.  When we have dreams and visions we must act on them and do our part in turning them into a reality.  Dreaming is good but it’s better to wake up and live your dreams!

Love In Motion

IMG_7820

Love In Motion

Movement and motion real love moves like an ocean action not words show what love is worth.

Love is not an emotion but love has the power to bring forth emotions to cause hurt, joy, and pain.

Love will help you to deal with frustration from inflation, sequestration, and even condemnation.

This is the truth loves purpose it is real if taken to heart love can conceal every flaw every mistake all those issues that make you feel like you’ve lost all your appeal.

Love has that covered it’s a part of His plan.  But you can’t just speak love with the words that are heard understand you must demonstrate this word using actions flowing from your hands through the thought of your heart.

Love spoken without action creates a stagnate situation moving only in the breeze or drying up in the sun better yet it may freeze as soon as the temperatures of the heart begin to drop.

This word without action tends to get lost in contraction it shrinks and declines and dissipates over time when love is in motion it operates by your deeds it’s moving and growing, it’s planting and sowing when you give in to love a full harvest you’ll receive then use what you’ve gained exude love from your being let it seep from your soul allow loves motion to take control.
